Community Impact reports that at the Willis ISD December 10th meeting updates on projects were received.
A new expansion project for Willis High School, as well as the parking lot, is a new Ninth Grade Center.
At the December 10th Willis ISD trustee meeting, WISD Chief Operations Officer Bob Eaton said permits are waiting to be approved from the city of Conroe, which has caused the project to be paused. The location is at 10005 Highway 75 in Willis with a timeline of fall 2027 for completion.
Along with staff offices, a new Transportation Center will accommodate 100 buses. At the December 10th meeting, the guaranteed maximum price was okayed for $4.9 million for the construction manager. The location will be at 215 Philpot Street in Willis, The timeline is spring 2026 for completion.
There will be a new Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary campus. It will be funded by Willis ISD’s $143 million 2022 bond. It will have a student capacity of 850. The campus will be located at 8150 M.P. Clark Road in Conroe with completion in August 2026.
