Community Impact reports that according to a September 23rd news release, a family that has owned land in Montgomery County for generations has begun development on a new community in the county.
The Randall family, who owns the 2,000 acres of land for the project, have decided they want to share their experience in the area with other families.
In the release, Will Randall said, “We spent many years here fishing, hunting and working outdoors. Now is the time to allow others to enjoy the property’s country charms.”
Homeplace will be the name for the community. It holds the same name as the family homestead. The Homeplace property has been owned by three generations.
Of the 2,000 acre property, the starting stages of the development will focus on 446 acres. The location of the development will be next to Montgomery ISD’s Lake Creek High School and Creekside Elementary. It can be reached from FM 2584.
The Randall family will develop the master-planned community with the help of Rochester Development. Biking and hiking trails are in the plans.
It is expected that they will break ground in early 2026, according to Rochester Development Founder Chad Rochester. Lots in the first phase are to be completed and going to builders in 2027.
