Community Impact reports that 2025 Strategic Mobility Priorities were presented by the North Houston Association to Montgomery County Commissioners during their September meeting. The association highlighted 22 transportation projects aimed at improving regional mobility.
Founded in 1982, the association updates their mobility priorities every three years to spotlight projects most in need of political support or funding, according to Association President Marlisa Briggs.
Strategic Mobility Plan Co-Chair for the North American Association, Hunter Brennan, said the process started with subcommittee meetings and consultations with over 25 agencies, cities and economic development groups across Harris, Montgomery and Waller counties. Identifying projects most in need of advocacy, according to Brennan, is the key to advancing mobility improvements.
The association narrowed its attention to 22 out of an initial list of 90 projects using a scoring system based on regional needs. Board chair for the North Houston Association, Kim Sachtleben, said the completed list shows a geographic spread across the region.
Four Montgomery County projects included in the priority list, according to Sachtleben are:
–Magnolia Relief Route
–David Memorial Drive extension north
–Highway 249 widening
–Old Conroe Road widening
