The Courier of Montgomery County reports that in the works on Willis’ northeast side is a new 1,500 acre scenic acreage community. It’s called Foster Creek.
There will be a groundbreaking this month which will feature 600 home sites on lots ranging from one-an-a-half acres to five acres. Foster Creek is located off FM 3081 at the entrance to San Jacinto County. The area will be near businesses and Willis schools.
This acreage is phase one of the project. There is an option to develop up to 5,000 acres.
CEO of Foster Creek Ranch, Christopher Boone, said, “With Foster Creek Ranch, we’re offering something special—acreage living with all the benefits of privacy, space, community and a rich history.”
The land is part of a historical legacy going back to the Foster Lumber Company which was founded in 1879 in the area.
Developing around the mill was the town of Fostoria. In 1957, the mill closed which resulted in the demise of the town.
