Based in Alexandria, Virginia, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives gives out the award. Representing over 9,000 professionals in the industry, the organization has more than 1,600 chambers of commerce and related business and economic development organizations as members.
According to its president and CEO Sheree Anne Kelly, “This year’s finalists represent excellence in the chamber industry.”
The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives said in a release that, “The award, sponsored by the GrowthZone is the most prestigious and competitive award” among chamber of commerce organizations.
On July 23rd, the winners will be announced at the association’s annual convention in Philadelphia.
In at least three of five key performance areas in the association’s Annual Chamber Operations Survey, eligible chambers must meet minimum thresholds which include net revenue and assets, membership account retention and membership dollar retention.
In 1934, the chamber was originally founded as the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.
