At Walker County Commissioners Court Monday, the court looked at getting new body cams for the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tim Whitecotton addressed the court on the matter.
The data card allows the camera to be dialed in live to check on an officers safety. The new cameras also have a faster download capability than the previous cameras, as the video will download right after the officer tags it.
Chief Whitecotton passed along further information about cost.
Commissioners approved the purchase.
