The Courier of Montgomery County reports that at 1 PM on February 22nd, the 60th Annual Go Texan Parade takes place in downtown Conroe. It kicks off the rodeo season in the Houston region.
The parade, which brings a few thousand people to town, will start and finish at FM 2584 and Texas 75 with the parade going though the downtown district.
Featured entries in the parade include Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo dignitaries, law enforcement mounted patrol units, school and community groups, marching bands, horses, car clubs, elected officials and businesses.
According to Parade Chairman Brian Dawson, “This is the largest gathering of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials outside of the event at NRG.”
Dawson said several new business owners have said they want to be in the parade this year. The number of entry sign-ups have reached over 120.
Executive Committee Member for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Wesley Sinor, will be the Grand Marshall for the Conroe Go Texan Parade. He signed up as a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show in 2003. He has served in several official capacities since then. Previously, Sinor owned Sinor Engine Company and now serves as a consultant.
