Entergy Texas residential customers will soon see savings on their electric bills. Due to lower natural gas prices in 2024, most residential customers will receive a fuel refund in early 2025. The bill credits will be automatically applied over a three-month period beginning in February.
The fuel charge on customer bills covers the cost of fuel used to generate electricity, as well as any electricity purchased from other companies to meet customer demand. This charge fluctuates with fuel prices, and Entergy Texas makes no profit from it, as it is passed through to customers dollar-for-dollar.
Here’s what customers can expect:
- For a typical residential customer using 1,000 kWh of energy per month, the refund will result in a $5.93 credit each month from February through April—a total savings of nearly $18.
- The bill credit will vary based on individual energy usage.
- No action is required, as refunds will be automatically applied to customer bills.
