Community Impact reports that at a February 4th meeting Conroe ISD calculated its own 2024 A-F ratings to determine the progress of students and presented the results. The results show that since 2022 there was an overall student improvement. The last time ratings were released by the Texas Education Agency was 2022.
In 2022 the TEA gave the district a “What If” rating of 82, which is equal to a B. A score of 90 to 100 would be considered to be an A. Deputy Superintendent Bethany Medford said an estimated rating of 84 was received in 2023 and 85 in 2024.
The presentation can be found on the CISD website.
Officials said that, locally calculated and verified by TEA, the following are the number of CISD campuses that received each of the letter grades for 2024:
A:21
B:27
C:12
D:3
In September, following a lawsuit from school districts across the state, a Travis County district court blocked the TEA from releasing its A-F accountability ratings for Texas school districts.
Since 2019, districts have not received complete A-F ratings. Schools that received a C or lower, in 2022, were deemed “not rated” as they recovered from a significant loss of learning from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A trial was scheduled for today in Travis County.
