The Courier of Montgomery County reports that underway this week on Lake Conroe Major League Fishing starts its Bass Pro tournament. The top prize is $150,000.
According to information from the organization this is the second time that the Bass Pro Tour has visited Lake Conroe. Stage 1 of the tour is underway through February 2nd.
Back in 2019 was the last time that Major League Fishing visited the area. Oklahoma’s Edwin Evers became a fan favorite during that tour. He took home the top prize.
There are seven stages in the 2025 Bass Pro Tour season. Redcrest 2026 is where the regular season culminates. It takes place in the spring of 2026 where they showcase the top anglers.
On January 29th, six of the Major League Fishing pros will visit two Montgomery ISD campuses where they will read to students and participate in a question and answer session. They’ll give autographs and allow for photographs.
At 6:30 each morning, the anglers will head out from the Outlets at Conroe at 1111 League Line Road and head in the direction of one of five optional launch ramps. The organization will host a watch party at the Outlet between February 1st and February 2nd. There will be hourly giveaways and free food.
Anglers will be available to do meet and greets with fans, and each day the first 50 kids will get a free rod and reel.
Play-by-play will be available through the MLFNOW broadcast team for the final four days of competition from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM on MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MyOutdoorTV app and Rumble.
On August 30th on Discovery, Stage 1 at Lake Conroe will premiere. The championship round premieres on September 6th.
