From the Montgomery ISD blog page, Community Impact reports that Montgomery ISD has opened a resource center to furnish students and families with necessities. This was accomplished by MISD partnering with the Montgomery County Food Bank and the American Heart Association.
Set up like a small store, the MISD Resource Center, will begin to open by appointment to community members in need. On behalf of families and students, school counselors can also access resources.
MISD Director of Community Service Courtney Dyer, said in the post that, besides taking care of MISD families and employees in need, their “goal is to build partnerships with the community and student organizations.” She said, they want a connection with people who want to donate to the center as well people who want to volunteer their time.
