Community Impact reports that at the Conroe ISD’s September 17th board meeting, trustees were filled in on the proposed rezoning process for two of the district’s new elementary schools.
In regard to the openings of Mittie J. Campbell and W. Robert Eissler Elementary School in August of 2025, Assistant Superintendent Chris McCord, along with the Attendance Boundary Committee will look at attendance boundaries in preparation.
The location of the Campbell Elementary School will be in the feeder areas for Oak Ridge and Caney Creek high schools. The Eissler Elementary School will be in The Woodlands High School feeder.
Eissler Elementary School will have 950 students in their two story building located at 14000 Old Conroe Road. McCord also passed along information regarding a proposed road project for Old Conroe Road from South Loop 336 and FM 1488 in the area. This includes:
–Sgt. Ed Holcomb Boulevard and Old Conroe Road widening to four 12-foot-wide travel lanes, two in each direction.
–A raised medium that’s 14 feet wide.
–A shared-use path on the east side that’s 10 feet wide.
–Drainage for curb and gutter.
–Six-foot wide side walks intermittently placed.
At the meeting, McCord said there will be a letter for parents and children affected by the new schools and boundaries.
By way of the committee, the objectives of the district include:
–The populating of Eissler and Campbell elementary schools while reserving some room for future growth.
–Providing potential overcrowding relief to Woodland feeder zone elementary and intermediate campuses.
—Providing potential overcrowding relief to Vogel Intermediate and Suchma and Oak Ridge elementary schools.
–Addressing in a proactive way the anticipated growth and capacity issues at San Jacinto Elementary School.
Zoning scenarios will be reviewed by the committee before presenting their proposals to the board, likely in January. Final decision on the attendance boundaries is up to the board.
