The SHSU Bearkat Family Weekend is ahead. Here’s a sampling of what’s going on. Check in is at the Lowman Student Center Room 114 from 9 AM to 4 PM today and 9 AM to 6 PM Friday.

Home Away From Home in the Farrington Building, Room 116, from 9
AM to 2 PM. This is where those interested can meet the Global Engagement Center Staff.
LSC Kat Club Games and Activities at the Lowman Student Center Kat Club will be on the first floor from 9 AM to 6 PM. Bearkat families can partake in some fun and games. Wristband Access Only.
A Library Treasure Hunt at the Newton Gresham Library will be held from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A treasure has been hidden inside the library, and guests will need to learn all they can about the library in order to get it.
A Silent Disco Hosted by Campus Activities and Traditions will be at the Lowman Student Center, Room 320, 2 to 4 PM. Participants can listen and dance to music through wireless headphones.
College Classroom Experience will be at the Lowman Student Center Theater from 3 to 3:45 PM. Experience what attending a college class is like at SHSU.
Student Organization Fest will be at the Frank Parker Plaza from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Student Organizations will have tables set up around the plaza ready to share how students can join and interact with their peers in various organizations.
There will be a Friday Night Picnic at the Frank Parker Plaza 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Enjoy a picnic dinner and music by Houston’s J.B. Barnett. A pre-sale ticket is required.
A Faculty Recital, with Boyce Jeffries, featuring Percussion will take place at the Gaertner Performing Arts Center Recital Hall 7:30 to 9:30 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.
Bearkat Soccer vs. Southern University is scheduled at the Pritchett Field Complex, 1302 19th Street at 7:30 PM. A ticket is required.
