Community Impact reports that at the Conroe City Council’s August 8th meeting they okayed proposing a tax rate for 2024-25 of $0.4272 per $100 valuation.
The proposed tax rate is the same as it was for Fiscal Year 2023-24. According to Director of Finance and Assistant City Administrator Collin Boothe, it can be passed at a lower rate but a higher rate cannot be adopted.
The proposed Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget has been updated. The City is now proposing $127.3 million in expenditures, which is lower than the originally proposed $129.6 million. Proposed revenues have been figured at $129.9 million, so city officials are counting on a 2024-25 surplus of $2.5 million.
