The National Forests and Grasslands in Texas has closed the Sam Houston National Forest. This closure includes roads, trails, and developed recreation sites, all of which have been severely affected by flooding and pose a risk to public health and safety.
The closure orderwill remain in effect until May 21, 2024, at which time the closure can be extended if necessary.
All camping reservations through Thursday, May 21, have been canceled through recreation.gov.
