Community Impact reports that there will be a series of property tax workshops going on around Montgomery County that are hosted by the Montgomery Central Appraisal District.
The County’s Chief Appraiser Janet Jennings-Doyle and Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector Tammy McRae will be presenting the workshops from 6 to 7:30 PM at:
–The East Montgomery County Senior Center at 21679 McCleskey Road in New Caney on April 4th.
–The North Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald Street in Willis on April 9th.
–The West Montgomery County Community Center at 31355 Friendship Drive in Magnolia on April 15th.
–The Palm at 251 Central Pine Street in Montgomery on April 16th.
The topics Ms. Jennings-Doyle and Ms. McRae will talk about include:
–Tax Rates
–The Property Tax system
–The 2024 notice of appraised value
–Payment options and deadlines
–The right to protest and the deadlines
–Real Estate Trends
At the site of the workshop, those attending will be given the opportunity to get their exemption processed, if they have their driver’s license and supporting documents for exemption.
Documents such as:
A letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs granting veteran disability benefits.
A letter from the U-S Social Security Administration granting disability benefits.
An exemption form that has been completed.
