The Courier of Montgomery County reports that it’s becoming a good time for first time home buyers in Montgomery County, as communities of manufactured homes are under development. In 2024, 3,000 new homes are coming.
More homes are being transported to Texas than any other state, according to U.S. Census Bureau information. From 2018 to 2019, there was a drop in the transporting of the homes, but since then the number has gotten bigger.
According to the most recent Texas Manufactured Housing Survey passed along by Texas A&M’s Texas Real Estate Research Center, growing production and sales influenced manufactured housing activity during a seven month period through August.
The benefit of a manufactured home is that it makes it possible for people to buy a home as opposed to renting, according to Conroe Developer, Mike Stoeker. He calls it “pride in ownership.”
With one manufactured home development currently being developed, Stoecker has several in the county. At build-out, more than 1,200 homes will be located at Spring Branch Crossing and FM 2090.
Residents can get approved more easily for manufactured home loans, according to Texas A&M’s Research Center.
