The Courier of Montgomery County reports that two new members of the school board will be welcomed by Conroe ISD following Tuesday’s trustee election.
Board appointee Aggie Gambino was defeated by Ryan Tsamouris in the race for position 1. In January, Gambino was asked to fill the unexpired term of Tiffany Nelson.
For position 2, Destinee Milton and Robin Deferrari lost the trustee position to Rod Hammer with 40.79% of the vote.
With 52.1% of the vote, current board president Misty Odenweller beat Phil Martin in the contest for the board position.
Back in November of 2022, Odenweller won a spot on the board of trustees. She ran on the “Mama Bears” group with Nelson and Melissa Dungan. Getting rid of inappropriate materials at school libraries and classrooms, was the primary issue of the group.
Following vote canvassing, Odenweller, Tsamouris and Hammer will be sworn in later this month.
