The Courier of Montgomery County reports that Conroe ISD trustees directed staff to ensure next year’s calendar includes two inclement-weather days and more workdays for teachers to makeup for a bad-weather day in September.
These added minutes affect schedules for families, fine arts, athletics, teacher contract days and morale according to Trustee Melissa Dungan.
Wishing to use March 29th as a makeup day, Dungan moved to reverse the decision to add minutes to the day. The motion failed to pass 6 to 1.
At a later meeting, the board will revisit the calendar. In January, the board will adopt the 2027 calendar.
