Community Impact passes along several events happening in October in the Conroe and Montgomery area.
The 40th annual Lobsterfest fundraiser is being arranged by the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce. A golf tournament follows the event on October 2nd. The game helps fund chamber programs and events. The Lobsterfest will be on October 1st from 6 to 10 PM at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center at 9055 Airport Road. Tickets are $150. Hosted by Grand Central Park, a number of vendors will have an artisan market. They’ll have a DJ, food trucks and a pumpkin patch area. It’s October 3rd from 9 AM to 1 PM at The Lakehouse at Grand Central Park at 1039 Lake House Drive. Admission is free. The Website is grandcentralparktx.com.
The Lone Star First Saturday Market is hosted on the first Saturday of each month in Montgomery. Food and refreshments will be available courtesy of Slice of Amish. It takes place October 3rd from 9 AM to 3 PM. It will be located at 14420 Liberty Street in Montgomery. Their Facebook is Lone Star 1st Saturday Market. Admission is free.
A chili cook-off festival with live entertainment and vendors is being hosted by the Twisted Parrot Luxury RV Resort. It’s on October 3rd from 3 to 6 PM at 15075 Walden Road in Montgomery. Its $15 to $20 for chili tasting only and $55 for a resort day pass and chili tasting. Their website is twistedparrotrvresort.com.
A career fair focused on junior high level students is offered by the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce. A variety of local business owners will be there for students to interact with about possible career paths. It happens October 20th from 8 AM to 3 PM at the Lone Star Convention Center at 9055 Airport Road in Conroe. Their website is chamber.conroe.org.
