HUNTSVILLE – Hornet Green fills Huntsville this week as Huntsville High School celebrates Homecoming, one of the most anticipated weeks on the Hornet calendar.
The celebration begins Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, with the Homecoming Parade at 6:15 p.m. The parade will follow Sam Houston Avenue to 11th Street, then head west to Highway 75. Families and neighbors from across the area are invited to line the route and cheer on the Hornets.
The week culminates Friday, Sept. 25, when the Hornets host the Spring Woods Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Alumni, families and fans will be back in the stands to welcome home former Hornets and support the current team.
For many area families, Homecoming is about more than one football game. It’s a chance to reconnect with classmates, see old friends and support the students who make Hornet Nation what it is.
KSAM has been part of Hornet Friday nights since October 1938, and that tradition continues. Pregame coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on 101.7 KSAM, and webcast live as well on the Hornet Nation Broadcast Network, powered by KSAM Sports.
Best of luck to the Hornets, the Homecoming court and Hornet Nation. Sting ‘Em, Hornets!
