Community Impact reports that there will be several updates in transportation in the Conroe and Montgomery areas.
From two to four lanes, Highway 105 is being widened. This will be be between 10th Street and South Loop 336. According to the TxDOT’s March 10th media update the project is 60 percent complete. Work will be ongoing through the second quarter of 2028 at a cost of $52.65 million.
A widening of South Loop 336 is ongoing. It’s being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane between I-45 and Ladera Creek Trace. It is 62 percent completed with final completion set for the third quarter of 2027 at a total cost of $20.57 million.
A safety light project with conduit and other electrical services along South Loop 336 between I-45 and Sergeant Ed Holcomb Boulevard is ongoing through the second quarter of 2026 at a cost of $518,164. It is 98 percent completed.
Along the main lanes of I-45 between FM 830 and Shepard Hill Boulevard, high mast LED lights are being installed. The project is 91 percent complete with a completion time of the second quarter of 2026 at a total cost of $1.45 million.
According to TxDOT’s March 10th media update the FM 1097 widening project is 90 percent completed. The road will go from two to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane between west Blueberry Hills Road to Lake Conroe Hills Drive at a cost of $20.21 million. The completion time is set for the second quarter of 2026.
Culvert replacement, shoulder additions and other improvements are planned for the project at the intersection of Atkins Creek and FM 1097. According to TxDOT’s March 10th media update, it’s 67 percent complete and will be completed the third quarter of 2026 at a cost of $4.41 million.
Under construction is a direct connector to connect northbound I-45 with eastbound Highway 242. According to a March 10th media update it is 22 percent completed with a completion time of the third quarter of 2028 at a total cost of $42.63 million.
