Community Impact reports that on July 13th, at their Miracle City campus in Conroe, Compassion United celebrated the opening of two new traditional homes. As far as residential capacity, this doubles the opportunity for space for people working toward long-term independence.
Previously, the nonprofit’s home had space for four women and ten men. The capacity will increase from 14 to 32 residents with the new additions, once the homes are occupied, according to Director of Communications Jessica Clark.
In providing services, one home will have room for 16 men, and the other will have room for up to 16 women. Each home will have a live-in house manager who will offer support to residents in the 3000 square foot home.
Residents are expected to move in next week, as the organization awaits its final certificate of occupancy as of July 13th.
This is Compassion United’s Miracle City campuses latest phase, which offers housing with services and programs whose goal is to help people move out of homelessness and put together more stable lives.
Individualized support includes:
–Life skill training and financial literacy
–Trauma recovery classes and mental health support
–Assistance in employment
–Provided support for those working toward sobriety
–Throughout the Miracle City campus, opportunities to volunteer and serve clients
–Access to a food pantry, medical care, a clothing closet and a commercial kitchen
